Hello from Twin Oaks Resort & RV Park. This is the first blog for the resorts web site AND my first blog ever! So I'm hoping this is beneficial and hope to hear feedback from YOU :) (of course any feedback concerning spelling errors are not exactly what I was looking for, ha ha) Hoping this to be a fun place for us to keep in touch in any way or matter.
Where to start??? Paul and I took over the resort as of May 15th, 2012 and it has been so interesting to learn the resort business. It's hard to believe that when we were looking at purchasing this resort, we hadn't meet one occupant from the RV park or seen Nokay Lake without ice on it! What a blessing it has turned out to be knowing each of our RV'ers and waking up to God's beautiful creation every morning. He lead us in the right direction and we are so thankful.
We've had so much fun here this summer with bean bag tournaments, ladder ball (Paul Bunyan style) tournaments, bass fishing tournaments, release to the grease (fishing) tournaments, pot lucks, karaoke, movie nights.... Wow!! And so much more. To the people here that coordinated each event, THANK YOU! We couldn't have done it without you. I just can't thank, Coach, Jerry, Dorothy, Lynn, Angela, Joe, Katie, Ben, Mike, Virgil, Donna, and so many more, enough for all that they have done to help make all the events happen here.
Yesterday was kind of a sad day to start saying good byes to the RV people. I'm not real good at good byes, but who would have thunk that we would get so attached to these kind folks in such a short time. I mentioned to Paul that maybe I should take off from about September 1 to October 15 to avoid the good byes. Of course I just got "the look"... But blessings happen more than we know. And with our many prayers out to each of our visitors and RV people from near and (very) far, they will have safe journeys back to their homes and return safely to us in the spring.
Many changes will be taking place here over the next year or so at the resort. Started with planting trees down on the 'tarmac'. Looking a little bit more homey down there now. For those that don't know what the tarmac is, it's the newest area of the RV park. It needed some sprucing up, we just did it with maples.
Signing off for now. Please feel free to write comments to keep us posted on how you are doing.
Blessings to all,
Veda
