Happy June 1st!
I realize my title has a lot of different emotions for many of us. With the Covid-19 pandemic, and just when you thought it couldn't get worse, we have the riots and the awful loss of an innocent man in Minneapolis which has impacted our entire nation.
Everyone of us has the right to feel the way they do. But there is never ever an excuse to be unkind, uncaring and have thoughtfulness not impacting their everyday lives. Please, please, please be KIND, be CARING, and be THOUGHTFUL. The world needs to come together, not drive us farther apart. The high emotions are easily elevated by the smallest gesture during these difficult times. Let's all try to pull together and make an example of what we would like our world to be: happy, loving, caring, sharing, giving and respectful of others in every way possible. This is my wish for all of us.
During the pandemic since March, many of our lives have changed and some of them may never be what they were before that dreadful time again. I have been able to work during this whole time as my place of employment is considered "essential". I am one of the lucky ones I know. As I am very aware that I am one of the few that are able to work.
I also am aware that none of my immediate family members have been affected by the Covid-19. But I do have close friends that do have family members struggling through this awful disease. My prayers are with them all. Due to this pandemic, we have had to adjust a few things here at the resort. We have had to take cancellations because people just don't feel safe taking the long road trip, and who can blame them. We have some of our RV park seasonal campers not able to come up to their campers because of underlying health conditions. This makes us very very sad that our whole Twin Oaks Resort family can't be together. But we understand they are where they need to be to be safe.
We have made a few changes here to adjust for the pandemic. We have asked our clients to bring their own pillows and blankets (things we normally supply). There is just not enough time to wash that extra stuff every week. If you can't and or forget, no problem, we got ya. Our cleaning staff has done an exceptional job in cleaning ceiling to floor for your safety. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact us.
If you are one of the clients that had to cancel their vacation this year, we will miss you!! It's not the same not seeing your name on our books this year like we have in the past few years. Paul and I were just talking that a few weeks ago, that we purchased Twin Oaks 9 years ago. Wow, where has the time gone?? Unbelievable the time and the changes that have taken place. We still love it here even more than when we arrived. We owe it all to you, our clients! Clients where most of you have become our extended family.
In closing, just a friendly reminder that we are all in this together! This too shall pass. I say that over and over and over again. Remember to be kind, caring and thoughtful. I am so happy to know so many that I can actually say you all are those words and I am so blessed to have known you.
Stay safe! Take care! And keep in Touch!
Love, Veda
