Ok, Paul took this picture Thursday! I am looking at the calendar and we are supposed to be opening a week from this Friday... Hmmm, wonder how that is going to go... Can't exactly turn the water on, if you can't find it... Not to be a Debbie Downer here, but I'm pretty sure I'm not alone on this when I say, I'M SICK OF WINTER ALREADY!! Even if we have to jump straight to Summer and skip Spring, so be it, bring it on!
Hard to believe that when we look out at the lake, there are actually 3 trucks out there and a crew ice fishing. The ice is still around 30" thick. Yikes. Gonna take some drastic warm temps and lots of sunshine to get this season going. I just pray we don't have the high waters that we did last year on our first season. Season two seems to be bringing on her own story already and we haven't even opened yet.
But we have had some help here lately getting some work done on the cabins. I know people have been patiently waiting for me to post some pictures of the newly remodeled Cabin #7, but I have been waiting for the weather to get decent so we can get the staining done on the outside. Then I can get the pictures done. Inside is complete now with new flooring, AC, CLEANING!, curtains and beds. In fact, all the cabins have new beds and box springs.
We have been doing some things to the other cabins as well. Cabin #2 has new siding, windows and flooring as well. Cabin #4 has some new siding, and some new flooring. We have been doing things here and there. Unfortunately, we aren't able to do everything at once, but I feel pleased with what has been done so far.
Not sure if all these people will read my blog, but I have to send a big thanks for the help these kind folks have kindly given to us and Twin Oaks: Tim Halanon and his sons, Lars and Landon. My son A.J., and his friend Ryan. My daughter Katie and her friend Andrew. My other daughter Ashlyn and her friend Jackson. Our good friend Joe and his kids, Erin and Justin. We are truly blessed with such awesome people God has put in our lives.
Well as I write this blog, it once again is snowing out. The prediction is for us to get any where's up to 7". Prayers are welcomed to guide us through season two. We are starting to hear from our seasonal RV people and they are getting as anxious as we are. In fact, we had a couple come up yesterday to bring some stuff up to their camper, and they couldn't believe the snow we had here. I just didn't think people would have to shovel to get to their camper at the end of April. I just have to chuckle, because that is all we can do. It's good I like to laugh!
I'm off to get other things done today. The calendar has been updated on the website so please take a look and if you know of friends or family that would like to take up some of the empty spots on the calendar, please give them a shout and pass along our number. It is greatly appreciated.
Take care and God Bless!
